Way Overdue

Not quite sure what to say other than "way to drop the ball on Ollie's blog, thank you very much".

So, there's that.

And an update: He's huge. Bigger than his sisters (thank YOU very much and you and you and you!).

Our not-so-little boy is about 8 months old now, with some skin to grow into still, and some energy to burn still... but not the overwhelming kind, thank you VERY much. He's mellowed out, and become a productive member of society - not that depressing example of youth wasted to gang violence that he once was. Or rather, youth wasted to peer-pressure-induced grand theft auto, joy rides and what not. Or rather, youth wasted to early alcoholism and crusty punk rock, eyeliner on boys and pants tighter than could ever be anatomically appropriate. Or... whatever it was that was stressing me out, I can't recall... it's all a blur of red fuzz and yelping and screeching, teeth, slobber.

His hookworms made him a bad bad boy. With little bitty razor blade teeth.

Now that's all fixed, he feels good, I feel puncture-free. Jared has a lifelong, surprisingly gentle with his teeth, WWE Smackdown arch rival. Complete with body slams, backbreakers, full nelson, half nelson, off-the-ropes clotheslines. You name it, they've done it to each other (yes, I'm still talking about the dog). Don't believe me? Google it.

When it's not WWF's Ollie the Obliterator time, he's mellow and sweet and snuggly and responsive. We're all a big happy family - the 5 of us all snuggle up on the futon and watch romantic comedies together. Or terrifying sci-fi movies (we cover Ollie's eyes still at the scary parts). He lays on me while I apply for jobs, providing just the extra 102 degrees of warmth I need in our un-insulated living room in the middle of the summer, thanks.

Love this little guy.  <3

10 Weeks Old...

...and getting huge. He's 16 pounds now, compared to the 5 pound little bean we brought home, he's quite the bruiser now.
He's halfway through puppy shots and treatment for hookworm. Yuck. The girls are getting hookworm medicine too, just in case. ...thanks Ollie.
Here are some photos of him being big.

...making friends with Jack. :)

-check out the inner workings of his throat...

Ollie Hits the Beach

A few photos from Oliver's first trip to the beach. We drove out to Malibu and ran around until he passed out.
He's becoming quite the car rider too!

Photos!

Got one of the cameras back on. Took some cute pics of a typical evening here at the zoo.

Week 2:

Ollie is growing like a weed! He weighs 10 pounds now, a skinny 10 pounds. All of a sudden, over night, his nose and legs grew and his torso got long too. He had a rad little fat puppy belly going on, then the growth spurt and now he's a skinny man. He's eating like a small horse. Just a little less than his full grown sisters.

And he's gotten a lot faster. Not greyhound fast yet. More like "slightly more coordinated puppy" fast. He still runs with his butt either tucked, or off center like a silly cat. It's pretty freakin' cute.

My camera is still out of commission, so I'm majorly lacking on photos. But here's a cute shot of him getting a bath with J. Although, what I wish I had is a photo of Ollie all wrapped up in a towel after his bath, being carried around the house by his daddy like a baby.

Here's our little man relaxing in his pen, on his giant octopus stuffy...which he's taken to humping when he's in a sassy mood. ...we're so proud.

Week 1

7 weeks old:

So, really, I can't believe he went from 5 pounds to 7 pounds in one week. He's growing like a little weed.

Oy, and he's SO LOUD. I never would have imagined the sounds and volumes that come out of that little guy. On the whole, though, he's really really good. Potty training is going well. He settles in his pen with in 5 minutes. And today, Banjo actually played with him!

Some pics from the trip home from Tucson:

Being an angel, ace roadtripping lying on J's legs.

Ollie and J, cutest boys in the world.

Right?

The girls hated him for the first week. Maybe not hate, but severe, extreme irritation. That seems to be working itself out. When he's awake, he's tormenting the girls. Non stop.

Here we are at the vet. Ollie rummages up the gusto to bite Banjo in the face, after being thoroughly examined by the Doc.

Ollie reeeeally wants to play with Finn, and apparently she's just not ready. So vicious!

Ollie makes friends with Mel, sitting out front of Intelligentisa.

Welcome home baby Oliver

His full, legal name is Oliver Ragamuffin Linzmoody. But you can just call him Ollie.

We have 2 adult greyhounds, our girls, Finn and Banjo. They're 7 and 5. We got wind of a 6 week old puppy greyhound available for adoption in Tucson. He'd broken a leg somehow, at the tender age of 4 weeks. His leg was healed, but he was no longer a candidate for racing. Lucky for all of us!

Last weekend, we made the trip out to Tucson, AZ to pick up the little man and bring him home. I'm hoping to use this blog as sort of a puppy baby book.
Meeting daddy for the first time.

Meeting mommy and his sisters, Finn and Banjo

Aww, first family portrait. <3
